Since May this year, the number of worldwide victims of Ransomware such as WannaCry and Petya has increased, and similar cases occurred recently in Malaysia, so the security awareness of Malaysian organizations has strengthened. As a result, NPCore (CEO Seung-chul Han) introduced its new endpoint security product, 'ZombieZERO EDR for APT' at the ‘CSM-ACE 2017'.
‘CSM-ACE (Cyber Security Malaysia – Awards/ Conference/ Exhibition) 2017’ hosted by CSM(Cyber Security Malaysia, similar in KISA of Korea) and held in The Royal Chulan Hotel in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on October 10~12 is a public-private partnership event and the largest information security exhibition in Malaysia.
NPCore is specialized in defense solution against unknown APT and Ransomware and provides two-level defense on network and endpoint based on behavior.
Existing security solutions (signature-based Anti-virus) cannot respond against APT (targeting malware) and new / variant Ransomware such as WannaCry and Petya, and traditional Sandbox technology is vulnerable to malware bypassing virtual machine, new and variant Ransomware and attack through encryption section (SSL communication). To overcome these limitations, the importance of EDR (End Point Detection & Response) technology has been highlighted.
In line with this, NPCore released endpoint security product against APT (ZombieZERO EDR for APT) and recently released 'ZombieZERO EDR for Server' also due to the recent biggest hosting server's security incident and supplied it to the Korean broadcasting station.
NPCore’s CEO, Han, S.C. said, " This exhibition shows that the cyber insurance business that protects data from cyber attacks is expanding in Southeast Asia as the crisis of Ransomware has increased recently. However, this solution just negotiates with hackers for data recovery, so it cannot guarantee 100% recovery. As a result of consulting with various Malaysian SI vendors, we continued to follow-up with 2 SI companies that showed interest in our products and partnerships. This is the first time we attended, but we achieved more than I expected.”
